ABOUT THE TOUR
I'm Chantel McAlister, and I'm Australia's only professional photographer and Masterclasser.
I’m on a personal mission to promote the Australian wool industry and showcase our truth to the rest of the world – one photo and story at a time. I want to educate the world on wool - our beautiful sustainable fibre.
My Truth About Wool campaign started in 2016 with a video documentary on crutching. It was really well received and I realised that a lot of people were unaware of the whole on-farm wool process. And that's how my idea about the Truth About Wool National Tour was born.
Throughout 2017 and 2018 I will be touring right across Australia to visit woolsheds and woolgrowing properties in almost every state of the country.
Along the way I will be taking photographs and collecting the stories of the people, animals and landscapes that make our Australian wool so unique. I'll be sharing the stories of the people in our industry, their resilience and passion. I'll also be bringing to life that raw, gritty beauty of the woolsheds through my photography and videos.
I love wool, it's my life, and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to travel right across Australia and show the rest of the world just how unique our wool industry is.
Through my photography I'll be telling the story of OUR WOOL - BEAUTIFUL, HONEST, TRULY AUSTRALIAN!

Supporters of the Tour have kindly donated via my GoFundMe campaign, or privately. Many donators are from those within the wool industry that believe in lifting the profile of the industry, and showcasing our beautiful truth and farm to fibre story to the world. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated.
Visit my GoFundMe page to view supporters or donate to the Tour to help keep me on the road to tell wool's story. Please note that some supporters have chosen to have their details remain private, and will not appear on the GoFundMe page.
Various media publications have kindly supported the Tour by spreading the word through print and online newspapers. I am very grateful for their ongoing support over the years, and also of the Tour.
